Position Summary 

The role of the IT Product Specialist is to manage the entire lifecycle of assigned IT product(s) or service(s). Major responsibilities include collaborating with key stakeholders in the selection process, developing detailed system designs from requirements, contract management, vendor management, capacity management, contributing to future direction and roadmaps, escalated support and product consulting, and documentation. 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SharePoint Online Senior Product Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of our SharePoint Online environment, ensuring that it meets the needs of our organization and its users. 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory. 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $114,000.00
Bay Area Maximum: $182,000.00

OR

California Minimum: $108,000.00
California Maximum: $173,000.00

Job Responsibilities 

  • Monitor and maintain the performance, availability, and security of the SharePoint Online environment 

  • Collaborate & consult with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure that the SharePoint Online environment meets their needs 

  • Provide technical support and training to SharePoint Online users 

  • Assist with managing Sharepoint Site Governance process (Power Apps/Power Automate/PowerShell) 

  • Develop and implement tools, scripts and frameworks of moderate complexity that drive efficiency in automation and management of current environments 

  • Keep up to date with the latest developments in SharePoint Online and related technologies 

  • Participate in team rotation On-Call 7x24x365 in support of escalations        

  • Participate in after business hours operational maintenance activities and deployments 

  • Develop procedures for routine Service maintenance/operations task 

  • Cross train on other collaboration technologies i.e. Teams, OneDrive, Exchange Online, SharePoint online, Stream, Entra ID, etc 

  • Manage Sharepoint Online SharePoint Online sites, pages, and applications as assigned 

  • Provide 2nd/3rd level support as it relates to Collaboration services 

  • Identify and streamline existing processes 

  • Monitor and respond to issues or service requests reported to the Service Desk and creating and resolving problem tickets for chronic service issues. 

  • Working with stakeholders, leads the development of an implementation that utilizes the best of IT standards, service offerings and operational needs to provide choices of technology solutions 

  • Assignments are broad and complex, have major associated risks with high visibility, and can be sensitive or widely varied requiring good judgment in applying and adapting techniques 

  • The work product has potentially significant impact (financial, public perception, operational, legal) on the Company, the department or IT as a whole and this position will represent the company's interest in a project with clearly "high stakes" under general guidance 

  • Work with other engineers, architects, and product specialists to ensure that the products and components work together to meet the objectives and performance goals as defined in the requirements 

  • Able to engage and influence partners to develop the best solutions 

  • Presents findings and makes recommendations to management or others within organization 

  • Delivers training and presentations from small to medium groups to improve skills of others and understanding across a medium span of influence 

  • Provides critical support function for the implementations during plan, analyze, design, build, test, and deploy phases of IT projects 

  • Own the outcome; able to manage expectations; strive for overall IT success; take the initiative; administrative excellence 

  • Great insights and judgment skills; courage to share unpopular viewpoints; comfort with ambiguity 

  • Ability to apply multi-disciplinary approach to develop best-of-breed portfolio solutions 

Qualifications 

Minimum: 

  • Associates Degree in Computer Science or job-related discipline or equivalent experience 

  • Experience with software, job-related, 3 year 

  • Job-related technical experience, 4 years 

Desired: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field 

  • At least 5 years of experience in SharePoint Or SharePoint Online development and administration 

  • Strong knowledge of SharePoint Online architecture, features, and capabilities 

  • Strong experience in PowerShell Scripting 

  • Experience with creating Site Scripts for custom site collection templates 

  • Experience with creating/maintaining Power Apps/Power Automate solutions 

  • Experience with SharePoint Online development tools and technologies 

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills 

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills 

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills 

  • Experience working with ShareGate
