Primary Purpose:
Assesses all relevant policy developments and coordinates the team's regulatory agenda by liaising with SDG&E's teams of experts (e.g. regulatory case managers, government relations).

Assesses all relevant policy developments and coordinates the team's regulatory agenda by liaising with SDG&E's teams of experts (e.g. regulatory case managers, government relations).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Advises on the potential impact of regulatory proceedings and policy initiatives before the CPUC, FERC, CEC, CAISO, CARB and other agencies (including Federal level).
- Researches policy developments and potential impacts on initiatives.
- Leads the preparation of policy statements, testimony preparation, and pleadings in regulatory proceedings. Provides input into program designs, competitive solicitations, and applications and the response preparation.
- Remains knowledgeable on regulatory requirements including the RPS, IRP, RA, procurement, interconnection, retail choice, GHG and related matters. Anticipates future changes and work with management and team-members to integrate regulatory requirements into practices.
- Supports the organization in the preparation of materials for the PRG meetings. May act as liaison to ratepayer, CCA or direct access groups.
- Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
Qualifications
Hybrid Schedule:
- Although the schedule may vary, typically this will allow the employee to work onsite three days per week and remotely on the remaining workdays.
- Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Political Sciences, Economics, or related field.
- 4 years - Relevant experience in policy, regulatory, legislative or compliance within the power industry at a Investor Owned Utility (IOU), governmental agency, or Non-Governmental Organization (NGO).
- Ability to interface with multiple stakeholders (including Senior Management), present complex idea in an understandable manner, and translate policy guidelines into business practice.
- Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Public Policy or JD.
- Experience in renewable is highly desired.
