Position Summary
We are looking for an Technical Product Manager, Principal to coordinate projects involving work from one or more of the areas mentioned above. You will have a unique opportunity to join a new team to develop novel tools and solutions at the forefront of utility industry analytics. In this role you will lead cross functional teams, including data scientists, technology experts, and subject matter experts to develop data driven solutions. - This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
CA Minimum: $133,000
CA Maximum: $226,000

Bay Minimum: $140,000
Bay Maximum: $238,000
This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop materials for, and lead presentations to, senior leadership
- Understand and effectively communicate how individual projects fit into a broad strategic landscape
- Collaborate with dev/ops team to drive improved data access and data quality for machine learning projects
- Partner with internal clients to advance business processes, based on analytical findings
- Support the development of external communications explaining PG&E's analytical capabilities, current project portfolio, vision for the future, and relevant policy positions
- Work with team leadership to continually improve analytics at PG&E via demonstrations, mentoring, disseminating best practices, etc.
- Research and define users' problem statements, use cases, and functional requirements
- Development of prioritized project plans, product roadmaps, and resource allocation needs
- Facilitate on-time project completion by codifying roles and responsibilities
- Identification of project risks, followed by development of contingency plans
- Solve and document roadblocks the project team faces as part of continuous improvement efforts
- Conduct user testing and product demo sessions as part of an iterative development process
- Craft regular updates to leadership on project status, successes, and learnings
- Promote a continuous improvement mindset by conducting after action retrospectives
- Work closely with leadership teams to identify ways to collaborate and meet business objectives
- Articulate product goals and mission to key stakeholder teams to assure development of a product that meets market needs.
- Identify product improvement needs based on customer research, marketing and sales feedback, measurement and evaluation reports, and internal ideation and gap analysis.
- Manage all key company stakeholders and oversee development milestones with transparency; appropriately involve necessary stakeholders for sign-off processes involved for each milestone.
- Review all product deliverables to assure the offering is complete, meets specific needs, and includes optimal materials both in the box and on-line to assure customer satisfaction.
- Develop business cases to identify principal technical and commercial levers that drive adoption decisions.
- Support regulatory activities by writing testimony, responding to data requests, meeting with regulators and other IOUs, and providing content for regulatory filings.
- Possesses unique product management and subject matter (domain) expertise, a thought leader.
- Established relationships with key industry contacts.
- Solves unique and complex problems, anticipating issues and developing innovative solutions.
- Works with senior management to support strategic planning and decision making, i.e., market transformation strategies for product portfolio; portfolio management; roadmap methodology, etc.
- May manage major cross-functional projects and initiatives.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelors Degree in job-related discipline or equivalent experience
- Job-related experience, 10 years
Desired:
- Masters Degree or equivalent experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Advanced degree in appropriate technical discipline (computer science, engineering, applied sciences, mathematics, statistics, econometrics or similar quantitatively focused subject areas)
- Proven ability to translate business desires into technical requirements and user stories
- History of working on complex multi-stage projects with a diverse team
- Experience with relevant product management tools (Jira, Asana, etc.), version control tools (Git, Bitbucket. etc.), data science and machine learning tools/infrastructure (AWS suite of products, Jupyter, etc.), and methodologies (Agile, Design thinking, Kanban, etc.)"
- Experience using Agile methodology to develop a machine learning product
- Experience conducting user research and using client feedback to inform a product roadmap
- Project Management certifications (Agile, Lean Six Sigma, PMP, etc.)
