Description

The Payroll Analyst is responsible for processing and analyzing the organization's payrolls accurately and timely utilizing the applicable payroll system. 

This role will also be a technical resource that monitors, manages and reconciles periodic employer and employee payroll taxes accurately and timely. Additionally, This role will reconcile internal tax data with external third party tax processor ensuring compliance with payroll tax laws of multiple jurisdictions. 

  • Monitors and reconciles employee and employer taxes for weekly, semimonthly and monthly payrolls of multiple company entities
  • Manages weekly filing, payments and tax reconciliation for union and supervision payroll 
  • Analyzes and resolves employee payroll tax inquiries and troubleshoots tax issues affecting payroll
  • Monitors and reconciles quarterly and annual tax filings for various payrolls/entities including 941s and W-2s
  • Reviews payroll taxes and W-2 information for executive level employees
  • Manages business registrations and closures for state and local tax jurisdictions
  • Corresponds with state and local tax jurisdictions to reconcile and resolve payroll tax issues
  • Tests HCM system tax updates to ensure accuracy and compliance against jurisdictional revisions
  • Participates in HCM upgrades and performs testing
  • Processes and analyzes the data related to periodic domestic payrolls 
  • Manages multiple tasks concurrently while prioritizing in a fast paced deadline driven environment
  • These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned

Qualifications

  •        Associate's degree in Business, Accounting, or equivalent degree, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree
  •        3+ years' experience with payroll and payroll taxes
  •        Experience with payroll implementation/transition preferred
  •        Advanced knowledge of payroll tax requirements including Federal, State and Local laws and compliance issues
  •        Understanding of payroll principles, concepts, and practices
  •        Experience processing multi-state payrolls
  •        Proficient knowledge of MS Excel
  •        Proven ability to resolve issues quickly while maintaining a high level of accuracy/confidentiality
  •        Excellent attention to detail
  •        Robust troubleshooting/problem solving and analytical abilities
  •        Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
  •        Strong interpersonal skills with ability to correspond professionally both verbally and in writing  
  •    .  Ability to work independently
