Develop and lead SRP's overarching Electric Vehicle (EV) strategy, which is foundational to the achievement of key SRP long-term corporate goals. Create, advocate for, and communicate the SRP EV strategy to internal business partners, executive management, SRP Board and Council, and external community and industry partners. Manages a team of strategists, analysts, consultants, and/or engineers who serve as technical experts, data analysts, strategy developers, and project managers. Provide broad organizational leadership to ensure that all aspects of SRP's EV strategy are effectively planned and implemented across the company. Create and manages community, industry, and other partnerships and alliances to achieve SRP's EV strategy and long-term goals. Direct departmental planning and budgeting. Lead cross-functional teams in the achievement of specific annual corporate objectives.
What You'll Do
- Directs a team to manage and evolve SRP's corporate EV strategy and associated roadmaps, objectives, and deliverables.
- Manages the development of recommendations regarding SRP's EV strategy to executive management based on trends in the business environment.
- Oversees the analysis of strategic trends, industry best practices, policy trends, and emerging EV technologies and standards.
- Collaborates with internal leadership, community and industry partners, and customers to identify, evaluate, and prioritize strategic initiatives and to ensure that those initiatives are aligned with the overall corporate strategic direction.
- Directs cross-functional teams in addressing specific strategic challenges relating to the enablement of transportation electrification.
- Lead the development and tracking of key strategic indicators for SRP's EV strategy.
- Manages staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs and in the planning and execution of assigned projects.
- Provides direction to staff in their work with consultants and other technical experts including, but not limited to, contract negotiations, specification of work documents, progress tracking, invoice management, and performance expectations.
- Hires, manages, and develops EV Strategy staff to include setting performance expectations, providing regular feedback, creating a positive and engaging work environment, evaluating performance, and making compensation decisions. Holds staff accountable to ensure departmental goals, objectives, and other priorities are met in a timely manner and at an appropriate level of professional quality.
- Develops short- and long-term strategy implementation plans, resource requirements for those plans, and associated budgets. Accountable for the achievement of plans generally within approved budgets.
- Serve as an SRP spokesperson on transportation electrification when so required.
- Manage special projects as assigned.
What It Takes To Succeed
This position requires knowledge of trends, technologies, and business models in the utility EV space. Direct experience and relationships in transportation electrification are preferred. Above average communication, organization, and relationship management skills are required. Demonstrated experience working across and leading cross-function teams and with external partners is preferred.
Experience
Minimum of 7 years cumulative and progressive exempt-level professional experience.
Education
Completion of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution that prepares the employee for the assignment.
