Position Summary
Reporting to the Sr. Manager - AAA and Data Engineering, you will be required to manage the organization's enterprise data platforms in alignment with the corporate technological vision, direction, and support the organization's strategic and operational goals. You will contribute to developing a long-term roadmap of enterprise data platform technology including policies, procedures, and standards, with a focus on integrating technology into company operations to increase effectiveness and efficiency, and to generate value for the company's top line.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Lead the Enterprise Platforms Azure and SAP HANA tower for digital, including definition, implementation, and execution of the processes related to this technology stack.
Provide expert technical leadership for the development of strategic directions for enterprise platform architecture, standards, principles, best practices and guides, related initiatives, projects, and services.
Advise the broader Digital team regarding the direction of existing and potential Digital solutions, emerging Digital program delivery solutions, new Digital products, and those which the department should pursue and/or adopt with relation to cloud-based enterprise data platforms.
Assess business/technical feasibility and impact on future and current solutions, recommend solutions and priorities, and advise on resource requirements.
Support the business in developing, maintaining, and updating its capability models, and its business and technology roadmaps related to cloud-based enterprise data platforms.
Manage the development and delivery of enterprise data project activities performed by internal and vendor resources, ensuring adherence to proper governance, as well as maintaining source code repositories and pull requests for ETL code.
In collaboration with the Digital business partners, establish and maintain contacts within business units and Digital programs to understand business activities and business drivers, business requirements, solutions strategies, and alternatives, etc., being considered and/or implemented, and help to align business initiatives to Enterprise Platforms strategy.
o Promote Data Architecture Standards and Data Mesh within user community by liberating data for integrating, analyzing, and reporting purposes to improve speed, efficiency, engagement, confidence, and reliability.
o Evangelize use of the Enterprise Platforms Azure technology stack to solve business problems.
o Develop and manage solution sustainment of Enterprise Platforms Azure technology stack and ensure the Application Managed Services provider remains vigilant.
o Employing DevOps practices to applicable aspects of cloud-based enterprise data platforms.
o Develop prototypes and POCs to provide assurance and feasibility to projects with a fail-fast system.
Provide the Utilities business with required Software Engineering capabilities as required for invoicing, trade confirmation, End-of-Day and risk reporting processes.
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
Bachelor's Degree applied sciences, computer sciences or engineering preferred
10+ Years software engineering and use of enterprise data platform tools required
5+ Years multi-faceted Digital roles within Energy/Utilities business required
5+ Years supervisory experience required
Experience developing, deploying, and supporting Azure Data assets required
Technically proficient with T-SQL, SSRS, ADF, Git, and Power Platform
Proven ability to work effectively as a member of various teams in a matrixed environment, which may include company personnel, project resources and third-party/outsourced vendors.
Demonstrated ability to communicate (listen, negotiate, convince) effectively, including the ability to persuade and diffuse tense situations.
Familiarity with the Mark Logic data platform
