The GHG Policy Analyst will report directly to the Senior Director of Policy, Planning, and Sustainability and will bring in-depth knowledge and experience; use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services; solve complex problems; take a new perspective using existing solutions; work independently, receive minimal guidance, and will act as a resource for colleagues across the organization.
*We're hiring for a position open to both principal-level and senior principal-level candidates. The level will be determined based on the successful applicant's qualifications, experience, and demonstrated skills during the interview process.
Key Responsibilities:
Specialization
· Mange PGE's GHG policy and planning
· GHG forecasting and policy modeling to support decarbonization efforts, resource, and program planning, including planning for emissions compliance targets, net zero and science-based targets.
· Oversee carbon reporting inventories, methodologies, disclosures, and messaging for regulatory compliance, and support of customer clean energy goals.
· Specializes in research and analysis.
Research & Analysis
· Uses data and analytics to drive development or changes in strategy development.
· Research, develop, and implement policies that improve the organization's environmental impact without detracting from other business goals.
· Develops reports, including graphics and visuals customized to individual audiences.
Compliance, & Process Management
· Coordinate with Finance and Environmental team on GHG data collection, controls, compliance, and related disclosures.
· Manage key GHG performance metrics, report, and communicate across the company and in investor facing documents.
· Ensures processes and deliverables meet regulatory requirements and guidelines.
Stakeholder Engagement
· Engage with key internal and external stakeholders.
· Coordination of PGE GHG reporting methodologies across states and organized markets.
Education/Experience/Certifications
· Requires a bachelor's degree in business, economics, accounting, environmental or public policy, sustainability, or related discipline or equivalent experience.
· Typically, eight (principal), twelve (senior principal) or more years in utility or similar energy sector experience in the area(s) of environmental policy and decarbonization, GHG modeling, or environmental policy; corporate sustainability experience; or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
