Primary Purpose
Advance Sempra's brand and values by driving the systems, processes, reporting and compliance associated with the day-to-day activities of the company's corporate citizenship activities, including corporate and Foundation giving; memberships in key business, industry and trade associations; employee giving and volunteerism; and strategic board affiliations. Develop, manage, and maintain the process for measuring impact of philanthropic investments for Sempra and Sempra Foundation. Manage compliance and policy activities, data-driven relationships and the corresponding data for all manner of reporting. Standardize and manage the process for companywide data application and collection process (workflow, approvals, accountability, compliance) that allows for sophisticated reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains, and oversees enterprise-wide standardization, accountability, and compliance as it relates to charitable and noncharitable investments, tracking, recording, and reporting to manage potential disclosure risks. This includes the design and standardization of online grant applications, giving dashboards, and tracking and reporting processes across operating companies to ensure consistency in approach and ability to more efficiently aggregate results for public reporting.
  • Manages data-driven relationships and the integrity of corresponding data, including, but not limited to: corporate social responsibility reporting, annual report, strategic communications data support, surveys and awards.
  • Develops, manages, and maintains the process for measuring impact of philanthropic investments for Sempra and Sempra Foundation. Obtains results from grantees, analyzes outputs, outcomes, impacts, and reports on results. Oversees the coordination of impact measurement efforts across the enterprise to ensure consistency and accuracy with aggregated data.
  • Manages the operations behind all manner of reporting tools in support of citizenship programs, including, but not limited to: Blackbaud (BBGM) and YourCause from Blackbaud, Sharepoint, True Impact, and the Charitable Giving PowerBI Dashboard.
  • Manages compliance, controls and policy activities, including, but not limited to: service organization controls reporting for software/platforms, bi-annual trade and business membership accountability report, and several corporate policies including Memberships, Company Related Employee Volunteerism and Board Service.
  • Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, external affairs, philanthropy, public relations, information technology, or a related field, required.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of related experience, required.
  • Prior experience and knowledge of corporate philanthropy and systems, and/or impact metrics preferred, preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong analytical skills and comfort and familiarity working with data systems, Excel and Power point to analyze and share quantitative information in executive style presentations. 
  • Ability to gather, understand, organize and manage corporate citizenship-related data. 
  • Ability to maintain awareness of citizenship trends and impact measurement, developing and implementing a continuous improvement process to ensure ongoing relevancy.
  • Aptitude in completing a range of surveys relating to corporate citizenship that drive company's external positioning and result in corporate awards and related publicity. 
  • Ability to successfully interact with individuals at all levels of the company to gather information and provide guidance.
  • Ability to accept responsibility and work independently; must be able to plan, analyze, organize, control and coordinate multiple projects, often under tight time constraints.
  • Ability to maintain current knowledge of best practices in grantmaking, volunteer/employee giving and impact measurement platforms. 
  • Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.
  • We offer a hybrid work environment.  Although the schedule may vary, typically this will allow you to work from the office three days per week and work remotely on the remaining workdays.
