Key Areas of Focus:

Installing underground or overhead electrical lines by laying pipe, pulling wire, and setting meters
-
Constructing, maintaining, and testing electrical systems and related equipment
-
Repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting street light systems, poles, luminaries, and circuits
-
Switching or rerouting electrical systems using proper sequencing and connections
-
Assuring compliance with safety standards and work practices
-
Operating line construction vehicles and equipment including wire-pullers, bucket and boom trucks, and various hand tools
-
Preparing materials for line construction and charging materials to appropriate job
-
Logging completed work orders and preparing reports

Assisting in training Line Technician apprentices

Provide emergency response after hours to restore power and repair infrastructure as needed
-
Must be willing to work in adverse work and weather conditions and is subject to overtime and standby hours

Comply with the safety and health program in support of an incident and injury-free workplace
Education and Experience:
-
Qualified candidates will have completed a certified Line Technician apprenticeship program
-
A valid CDL Class A and a valid, unrestricted driver's license is required
-
Two or more years of experience working as a journey line technician is preferred
