Summary

Assist in planning, organizing, and promoting Oncor's supplier diversity program and assure diversity inclusion within Oncor's strategic sourcing procurement activities while assisting diversity-owned businesses in their development.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Other duties may be assigned.  Directly or through others, the incumbent will:

  • Promote procurement opportunities for diversity-owned businesses within all business units of Oncor.
  • Perform compliance reporting of all regulatory activities associated with Supplier Diversity, including federal, state, and local reporting requirements as well as other contractual commitments for reporting.
  • Work with all internal major clients in the development of creative ways for inclusion of diverse suppliers, such as joint venturing, second-tier purchasing and contracting, and partnering.
  • Represent Oncor Supplier Diversity in the Business Community and source potential suppliers through participation in business organization activities including symposiums, trade fairs and networking events.
  • Provide support to Supplier Diversity Manager to ensure current, effective work processes are in place.
  • Ensure internal corporate awareness for the Company's commitment to Supplier Diversity through speaking at staff and employees meeting on the status and importance of Supplier Diversity.
  • Facilitate the introduction of diverse businesses into the procurement process through registration and appropriate certification in the ONCOR Supplier Diversity program.
  • Manage auditing processes to ensure diversity inclusion in sourcing events.
  • Work with Supplier Diversity Manager in co-developing a supplier onboarding portal.
  • Create reports through data analytics that can identify sourcing trends and opportunities to create and implement actions plans.
  • Develop supplier diversity performance metrics and track performance against metrics.
  • Develop a diverse supplier onboarding process designed to streamline the new supplier setup process.
  • Promote opportunities for diversity businesses in all areas of the ONCOR procurement process by coordinating buyer and client meetings, arranging manufacturer introductions and alliances, and participation in mentor/protégé relationships.
  • Generate reports and identify trends translating them into strategies and actions designed to advance the supplier diversity goals.
  • Work with third party provider to manage Oncor's Second-Tier Program, which includes working with major non-minority contractors for inclusion of diverse businesses as sub-contractors in major project work.
  • Enhance and further streamline Supplier Diversity processes with the use of modern technology.
  • Develop and maintain procedures for reports submitted both internally and externally. (Public Utilities Commission of Texas, Dallas Fort Worth Minority Supplier Development Council, Women's Business Council - Southwest Minority Supplier Development Council and others).
  • Participate as a corporate representative on committees and diversity councils to promote the Supplier Diversity commitment.
  • Support the Company's Supplier Diversity Recognition Program, which recognizes individuals who have made a significant contribution to the success of the Supplier Diversity Program through the Omnis Supplier Diversity Program and Annual Recognition Reception.
  • Provide data of results on the diversity spend commitments made in the ONCOR five-year Diversity Plan with the Public Utility Commission of the State of Texas.
  • Work with all levels of employees throughout ONCOR system to locate qualified and certified diversity-owned businesses.
  • Perform all essential aspects and functions of the job as well as any other specific job requirements

Education, Experience, & Skills

  • High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent is required
  • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related degree preferred
  • Minimum of three years supplier diversity experience preferred
  • Electric industry knowledge preferred
  • Promote our values diversity and inclusion with stakeholders
  • Ability to recognize the challenges of small and historically underutilized businesses and facilitate the integration of their personnel with company personnel and resources to afford the maximum benefit for the company's supplier diversity commitments
  • Previous procurement experience with strengths in data analytics, hands-on problem solving, innovation, and creativity
  • Database system management experience with Financial Information Management (FIM)
