Reporting to the Manager, Asset Protection and Investigations, the Asset Protection Specialist is responsible for direct hands-on Field Investigations for the PSEGLI Electric Utility. This position is viewed and deemed as the on-scene Security authority for the PSEGLI organization.
Job Responsibilities
- Direct representation and coordination with local, city, county, State and Federal law enforcement organizations in the investigation of both internal and external investigations involving PSEGLI Electric Utility operations and its employees
- Work with and advise the Security Command Center (SCC) staff and assigned support personnel in the development of incident reports resulting from theft, intrusions, fire, alarms, North American Reliability
- Corporation (NERC) related issues, and all other security matters
- Support and participate in Crisis Management Planning and Response, training additional lines of business on the Security Plan, implementation and interfacing with all PSEGLI organizations during exercises and actual security and crisis events
- Interface with additional Lines of Business and look for creative and proactive ways to increase security, optimize crime prevention and support Investigations to promote a safe working environment
- Work closely with and monitor activities of the contract security guards and roving patrols. Establish and sustain a 24/7/365 security presence using a mix of employees and subcontracted support personnel
- Knowledge of Storm Restoration Procedures associated with critical infrastructure sustainment and recovery
Job Specific Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or Security Management (or related degree) plus 7 years of experience in security or law enforcement, military, Federal, State, local law enforcement investigative or corporate investigations experience
- In lieu of degree a minimum of 15 years of investigative experience in Security or Law Enforcement
- Must demonstrate flexibility to work extended and unusual hours involving ever-changing situations and experience with on call security coverage
- Demonstrated communication skills (written and verbal)
- Experience interviewing, obtaining information and writing investigation and incident reports
- Proficiency with all MS Office applications
- Must possess and maintain a valid US driver's license with a safe and satisfactory driving history
Desired
- Experience in Security Response and Crisis Management. Demonstrated working knowledge of Physical Security requirements
- Understanding of Cyber Security requirements
- Previous experience working with an Electric Utility organization
