A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!
- Perform on-site inspections of new residential tract and developer substructure installations.
- Verify compliance with Edison standards, applicable construction requirements, industry standards and local governing agency standards.
- Measure and recording the location of Edison facilities, accounting for deviations, creating as-built drawings and communicating status of construction and inspection activities as the need arises.
- Utilize database systems to access and input information.
- Recognize dangerous conditions and working in a safe manner that is in compliance with the Edison Accident Prevention Manual.
- Work with confidential and/or sensitive information.
- Frequently drive within Edison's service territory.
- Engage in continuous learning and stay up to date with relevant technology and innovations.
- Perform other underground inspection duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Demonstrate consistent alignment to Edison safety protocols.
Qualifications
The Essentials
- Three or more years of overall experience performing any of the following: surveillance and inspections, civil construction, civil engineering, or civil drafting.
- Valid U.S. Driver's License.
The Preferred
- B.S Degree or higher in Engineering or related field.
- Basic computer skills including experience with Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Internet Explorer, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proficient with Auto Cad and Autodesk Design Review / Blue Beam.
- Experience with utility underground construction practices, specifications and requirements, including the Underground Structures (UGS) Manual, GO128 and related industry standards. The UGS Manual is available to the general public and can be downloaded from our website.
- Experience reading and understanding work order drawings, surveys and utility substructure maps.
- Giving functional direction to contractors and support personnel.
- Integrating work across relevant areas, leading risks appropriately, developing and completing business plans, and providing outstanding service to internal and external customers.
- Resource and project planning, tracking and decision-making.

- This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
