To help achieve our business goals, the Major Projects Division (MCR) has an opportunity for the role of Project Manager.
The Project Manager in MCR is an organized, passionate and results-oriented professional who has proven experience directly managing and leading a suite of multi-year and multi-million-dollar Engineer, Procure and Construct (EPC) projects in a highly complex brownfield environment. They are accountable to safely deliver the project scope from initiation to closeout, correctly the first time - on budget and on schedule through effective use of their team, stakeholders and customers.

Specific Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Delivery
- Owns and executes full Engineer, Procure, Construction (EPC) multi-year, multi-million dollar projects in a highly regulated and matrixed environment

Manages an integrated project team (IPT) responsible for successfully delivering the entire project within a strong matrix organizational structure. Holds accountability for the entire project life-cycle until closeout

Complies with and oversees execution of the policies, processes, and procedures in the management system that governs project delivery and ensures execution is efficient and effective

Directs the integrated project team's execution of project delivery processes and reporting systems to ensure consistent, effective, high-quality project management through each phase of the project life-cycle

Manages project milestones and budgets from development through closeout measuring performance, and taking necessary corrective actions to maintain the agreed upon schedules and costs

Provides leadership on day-to-day project delivery activities, ensuring adherence to safety, schedule, cost and quality requirements in order to drive the project forward

Manages assigned projects within the authorized funds provided and contracts within the authorized amounts and schedules. Ensures variances and changes to the project are tracked, analyzed and acted upon as required

Prepares project status and other reports required by MCR Division project management methodologies

Leads the project team in maintaining compliance with the 4 Pillars of Nuclear Safety (Reactor, Radiological, Industrial & Environmental) and upholds the Bruce Power's number one value Safety First

Anticipates and mitigates problems proactively. When unable to be anticipated, issues are resolved at the right level. When required, the Project Manager consults with other senior managers to resolve the problem

Integrates all the processes and functions involved in the project, including planning, engineering, design, procurement, construction, commissioning and other technical functions. Coordinates actions and decisions with these elements, resolving conflicts and settling issues through collaboration and, if unsuccessful, escalation
Planning and Staff Leadership

Evaluates workload projections and staffing requirements pertaining to assigned projects, based on resource loaded schedules. Effectively manages resources to meet the project requirements

Manages and monitors the work and performance of team members, either Bruce Power or Contracted resources through regular individual supervision and is accountable for the quality of the work of the team

Guides and coaches staff on how to proceed when problems are encountered to ensure that they are resolved promptly and that decisions and initiatives are in line with divisional goals and strategies

Promotes a work environment characterized by innovation, creativity, teamwork, transparency, integrity and respect. Works within the Division in developing processes that produce consistent, high-quality outcomes
Knowledge and Skills

Excellent proven knowledge of Project Management fundamentals (Earned Value Management, scheduling, risk, cost management and contract management

Demonstrated experience in contract and claim management of large contracts

Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate with senior stakeholders of the company

Specific knowledge and experience with design, procurement, installation and commissioning of modifications and the interfaces required with engineering, procurement, the trades and the stations to execute the project
Education and Experience

A university degree in engineering, science, project management, business administration or the equivalent in directly-related experience

A period of over 8 years and up to and including 10 years is considered necessary to gain this experience in a highly technical and regulated environment

Demonstrated ability to successfully manage and build multi-functional project teams to execute multi-million EPC projects in accordance with the established Bruce Power Project Management guidelines or similar based on the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®)

Experience working with Projects in Bruce Power's work environment and familiarity with heavy construction concepts and methodologies.
