Who we are We are the Capital Projects team within an arm of BC Hydro - Operations called Program and Contract Management (PCM). PCM Capital Projects delivers a range of Lines and Stations related projects. Our team is made up of a diverse group of approximately 50 professionals.

We carry a load of 500 projects in various delivery phases, worth a total of $900M. Our team currently delivers $180M per year with plans to grow.

Are you looking for a challenge and a place to demonstrate and grow your established skills in project management in a field-facing role? The PCM Capital Projects team has a regionally based, full time regular assignment headquartered in Revelstoke.

What we will ask of you
These unique, regionally based positions are field-facing. You will be the local representative of PCM capital projects and will work closely with Field Operations on smooth implementation of all small capital work.

This role will provide emergency/emergent project management capability and backfill of field roles or management support where needed.

  • Deliver projects of various types (Distribution, Communication Infrastructure, Dam Safety & Stations) and sizes ($50k to $12M, short cycle to standard delivery) with a mix of consultant and staff project teams through design and construction phases. 
  • Provide Regional Field Coordination - As delegated by Stations Field Managers.
  • Prepare, plan and deliver a Regional Work Plan supporting the broader PCM Stations Team.
  • Support Regional Emergency Response - Duties may include management and procurement of contractors and equipment to support emergency response.
  • Apply project management fundamentals and a structured approach to collaboratively plan, track and execute those projects using a range of established tools and processes.
  • Engage appropriately and regularly with key internal experts in environmental risk management, indigenous relations, procurement, policy, design, engineering, properties, legal and others to ensure your projects complete successfully.
  • Effectively represent BC Hydro to external stakeholders and in working with contractors as our projects execute.
  • Select and adjust the delivery and/ or contracting model used within projects to ensure smooth delivery of work.
  • Travel to site as and when needed to meet internal and external groups, and support design, permitting and field coordination/ construction.
