Description
Gainesville Regional Utilities (GRU), a multi-service utility owned by the City of Gainesville, Florida, is seeking an experienced Energy Delivery Officer. Offering electric, natural gas, water, wastewater, and telecommunications services to approximately 93,000 customers in Gainesville and surrounding areas. The combined services GRU offers, makes it the most comprehensive utility service provider in Florida.

The Energy Delivery Officer is responsible for managerial and administrative work managing the GRU Energy Delivery Department with an emphasis on electric and gas transmission and distribution (T&D) systems. Responsibilities of the position include providing a key leadership role with respect to all matters concerning Energy Delivery, strategic planning, developing and implementing department goals, representing GRU in an official capacity, and responding under emergency conditions. This position reports to the General Manager.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, engineering, or a related field and ten years of progressively responsible management and supervisory experience in electric or gas utility operations; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered. A Master’s degree is preferred. A valid Florida Driver License is required within 30 days of appointment and at all times while employed in this position. 

Salary & Benefits

The starting range for this position will be $175,000 - $193,000 depending on qualifications. GRU offers an array of highly competitive benefits including medical, dental and vision insurance, employer paid life insurance, a 401a Retirement option that includes a 5% employee contribution with a 10% employer match, deferred compensation, and a number of ancillary benefits. Relocation expenses are negotiable.
