Credit and Collections department is the liaison between corporate (legal and regulatory), business units, local law enforcement, customers, and vendors to help resolve issues which impact the company's overall financials.
Credit and Collections Investigator is responsible for collection of outstanding debt and the investigation and prevention of financial losses due to suspected fraud activity either to or by Tampa Electric or Peoples Gas Company customers. Serves as a resource to Customer Service and all levels of management regarding TEC/PGS Credit & Collections issues.
Snapshot of Duties & Responsibilities:
- Research, review and analyze documents to determine financial responsibility and prevent revenue loss and fraud.,
- Handles escalated credit calls from various departments related to validity of debt,
- Aids the Contact Center in meeting scorecard metrics,
- Guides collection agencies in decisions on how collection activities will be handled,
- Participates in special projects as required,
- Maintains Red Flag processes and working knowledge on FCRA guidelines,
- Responds in writing to Better Business Bureau (BBB) complaints, Florida Public Service Commission, and executive level referrals to prevent infractions,
- Develops and maintains relationships with key contacts internally and externally,
- Creates and generates reports as required for research and reporting purposes.
What Qualifications Are We Looking For?
Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent,
- At least One (1) year experience in more complex customer service environments (e.g., back-up roles, projects, etc.),
- Prior working knowledge of SAP ISU (CRB) system.

- Bi-lingual
