BTS PPMO Analyst, BTS Operations

Salary Grade: G07
Minimum  Midpoint  Maximum
$66,267 - $87,804 - $109,340

Given the financial nature of this position, a credit check is required prior to being hired, promoted or transferred into the position. The candidate must successfully pass a credit background check.

SUMMARY:

Assists the Business Technology Services (BTS) department VP and directors in day-to-day business, operating and financial planning, development, budget input, financial analysis, operating and process analysis, and special projects to meet the goals and objectives of the business segment Operating and Business Plan. Collaborates with Legal and Regulatory, including providing support for rate cases.  Works closely with Corporate Finance and manages the monthly budget for the department, individual projects, and contracts. .

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages monthly budget process for department, projects, and/or services contracts
  • Plays key leadership role in developing, analyzing, reporting on, and managing the BTS  O&M ($30m to $35M annually) and Capital ($18M to $22M annually) budgets
  • Individually or as a member of a team, manages monthly variance analyses, quarterly reforecasts, and annual AOP processes across 20+ budget home centers
  • Develops schedules and timelines and drives achievement of budget deadlines with BTS leaders of all levels (supervisor through vice president)
  • Serves as expert resource and partner with Corporate Finance analysts and managers on budget processes
  • Performs testing and provides input and recommendations on corporate budget systems as requested
  • Analyzes, reviews, tracks, processes, and reconciles costs/invoices
  • Prepares and presents budget reports to appropriate governance bodies and/or leadership
  • Prepares and adjusts budgets and performs year end closing
  • Manages professional services contracts and consultant work agreements
  • Reviews contracts and invoices to validate transactions prior to settlement
  • Ensures invoicing is executed by authorized personnel with appropriate disbursement authorization
  • Administers current services contracts and leases assuring they are current and in compliance
  • Assists with mitigating risks of expiration and or compliance issues of current services contracts and leases
  • Coordinates with owners, suppliers, and stakeholders responsible for these services contracts and leases to assure future use of the asset
  • Summarizes, interprets, and analyzes current and projected pricing for financial modeling use
  • Supports the development and negotiation of contract amendments, extensions, and new contracts, while coordinating with leadership and procurement
  • Builds business cases, prepares recommendations, and presents new project and initiative ideas
  • Develops and manages scope, budget, and milestones of assigned projects
  • Assists with garnering approval of final project from appropriate leaders and stakeholders
  • Executes project and conducts periodic progress and tracking reviews using standard project management methods and tools, such as a Gantt chart
  • Prepares and edits testimony and/or interrogatory responses for any legal or regulatory matters related to BTS projects
  • Provides support and review of regulatory filing and data submittals for consistency, accuracy, and reasonableness of results
  • Collaborates with the Legal and Regulatory groups on any BTS projects related regulatory matters
  • Coordinates, and manages stakeholder meetings, including issuing minutes and action items from these meetings
  • Documents work processes and standard work instructions and continuously improve on them as part of daily work
  • Performs benchmarking as a method to understand current performance and act upon results
  • Prepares and presents benchmarking reports to appropriate governance bodies
  • Assists with developing asset plans and roadmaps

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with six to seven years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, and project management software

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and/or walk up to 1/3 of the time and sit up to 2/3 of the time
  • Manual dexterity required
  • May be exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather)
  • Work near moving mechanical parts, in high and precarious places, and near fumes or airborne particles
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
