Eaton's Electrical division is currently seeking an Engineering Technician to join our 1st Shift team on the LVA Mechanical Layout team. This position is based at our Arden, NC facility. (Entry Level/Early Talent).
Position Overview:
The Lead Engineering Technician (Electrical) is responsible for utilizing CAD technology to make steel layouts or drawings involving new or existing standards, interpreting and working from design specifications, oral instruction, or sketched concepts.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Using 3D modeling software to develop motions(door swing), clearances and other involved features of any steel or customer equipment.
- Calculate fits, tolerances, strengths, weights, electrical, circuit parameters and similar items.
- Anticipate manufacturing and/or customer requirement and problems and develop design solutions.
- Coordinate the drafting work and be responsible for all drawings pertinent to design of customer order project.
- Consult with engineers on solutions relating to a design or customer order project.
- Consult with other departments as required to obtain or provide information..
- Checks work to assure conformance with standards are met.
- Ensure dead lines and schedules are met.
- Communicate any irregularities while working on an order.
- Must be able to work individually and on a team.
Qualifications
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in technical field from an accredited institution required.
- Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
- Relocation assitance will be offered for candidates residing outside a 50-mile radius of the location listed in the job description.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates degree in mechanical or Engineering technology or a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution preferred.
Position Criteria:
- Understanding of math, physics, machine design and electrical theory, understanding of CAD and basic drafting principles.
- Must have knowledge and experience in problem solving and trouble shooting
- Must be proficient with key computer programs - Microsoft Office, CAD, 3D modeling software, Internet, etc.
- Must be able to work mandated/scheduled overtime which could include weekdays and weekends.
