We have an opportunity for an Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our Mississauga team..  Reporting to the HR Manager, the Talent Acquisition Specialist is the sole recruiter responsible for leading the end-to-end recruitment process for all corporate, technical, and field services roles for Rodan's Canadian and US locations.  This will be achieved through the development of recruiting plans, employing traditional sourcing strategies and resources as well as developing new, creative recruiting ideas.

The Talent Acquisition Specialist will focus on executing a best-in-class sourcing and recruitment strategy to generate high-quality candidates who fit the organization's culture.  You are required to be hands on, while building critical relationships with leaders, employees, and vendors, providing solutions that have a direct impact to our business.

This is a critical role to ensure Rodan is hiring the best possible talent by developing and executing recruiting plans, networking through industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups, and coordinating/implement college recruiting initiatives. Specifically, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will be proactive about business needs, taking business trends into account when seeking out, prescreening, interviewing, and testing applicants to locate qualified employees for job openings. They are required to maintain an extensive, up to date database of candidates available as needs arise.

**This is a flexible hybrid role, requiring approximately 2 days in our Mississauga office and 3 days remotely**

Main Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Responsible for all aspects of the full-cycle recruitment process including posting positions, screening resumes, conducting phone pre-screens, provide short lists to hiring managers, scheduling/conducting interviews, creating offer letters, and processing background checks
  • Consult with management to identify personnel needs and conduct intake meetings with hiring managers to better understand job specifications, job duties, qualifications, and skills
  • Provide recruitment subject matter expertise for all departments with the ability to coach Hiring Managers about the hiring process
  • Prepare interview guides and participate in second interviews and ask behavioral-based questions with potential candidates
  • Post jobs on the Internet through Applicant Tracking System (ATS), and other identified sources, including various social media channels to increase available quality candidate pool
  • Assist in creating job descriptions
  • Develop a pool of qualified candidates in advance of need and maintain a current pipeline
  • Develop and promote talent acquisition initiatives in consultation with the HR Manager that improves the quality and efficiency of Rodan's recruitment processes, drive direct sourcing, candidate care, talent and diversity attraction and building skills specific talent pipeline
  • Work with the HR Manager to build the new hire orientation and on-boarding process
  • Ensuring hiring practices are followed consistently and fairly
  • Participating in the maintenance and preparation of weekly recruitment reports and providing data-driven updates to hiring managers
  • Maintaining accurate candidate and job tracking within the ATS
  • Participate in vendor discussions and negotiations with third party recruitment firms
  • Establish and maintain campus recruitment, co-op hiring, and summer jobs program
  • Other duties as required

Requirements:

  • Post-Secondary education in Human Resources or related discipline
  • Advance knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Excel)
  • Willingness to acquire industry knowledge
  • Minimum 5 years full cycle recruiting experience with demonstrated increasing complexity of roles
  • Excellent candidate search skills, with the ability to source active and passive candidates
  • Experience screening and interviewing candidates
  • Solid knowledge of hiring practices and employment legislation required
  • Demonstrated experience using LinkedIn Recruiter, including experience with Boolean sourcing
  • Experience working with an ATS
  • Knowledge of the power industry and energy markets is an asset

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledgeable with sourcing and recruitment strategies
  • Experience using behavior-based interview techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a high-volume recruitment setting
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task as required
  • Ability to coordinate daily tasks and ongoing projects effectively and efficiently within specified timeframes
  • Strong communication, both verbally and in writing, including the ability to influence and effectively negotiate
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and a natural ability to build trusting relationships
  • Ability to work with confidential and personal information discretely and professionally
  • Detailed oriented, with the ability to drive priorities
  • Excellent collaborator and team player
  • Easily liaises and interacts with all types of personalities both internally and externally
