Position Purpose
Collects gas and electric readings utilizing the MTX950 equipment from Neptune. Installs and replaces electric automated meter reading meters and gas modules with encoder receiver transmitter (ERT). Investigates misses, works sendbacks validates reading and reports other conditions associated with meters as mandated by KYPSC or regulatory bodies.
Required Education & Experience
GEmployee must have education or knowledge equivalent to that normally represented by satisfactory completion of the requirements of a high school diploma or equivalent with some previous work experience with computers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRY INTO:GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS1. Employee must meet all general qualifications of employment. 2. Employee must be able to speak, understand, read and write English, and be able to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and fluency in Spanish is perferred. 3. Employee must be able to learn to use the tools and equipment required in the work. 4. Employee must be thoroughly familiar with the Company Safety Rules and willingly see that they are enforced. 5. Employee must have a valid state driver's license and attend Defensive Driving Training every 3 years. 6. Employee must be willing to work inside and outside under varying weather conditions. 7. Employee must be willing to report as directed to any facility for any shift where needed. 8. Employee must be in good health and be able to perform the physical requirements of the job. 9. Employee must be willing and able to communicate through both verbal and written reports. 10. Employee must have demonstrated ability to carry through work assignments and conduct himself/herself in a manner that encourages cooperation and satisfactory work from others assigned to work with him/her.11. Job Description
GENERAL DUTIES
The normal duties may include but are not limited to: 1. Employee will be knowledgeable of and follow all safety rules, procedures and practices. 2. Employee, acting in conjunction with supervision or individually as directed by supervision, will assist and/or direct the training of other employees in the correct operating procedures necessary to fully satisfy the classification duties of an AMR Technician. 3. Employee will, when directed by supervision, report to assigned locations for the purpose of receiving training and will actively participate in the training activities. 4. Employee must satisfactorily complete all required training programs adopted by the Company. 5. Employee will, during the normal performance of his duties, watch for and promptly report to supervision any damaged or defective equipment or conditions which may cause damage or injury. 6. Employee will keep all equipment, tools, materials and work areas in a clean and orderly condition. 7. Employee will perform work in a responsible and cooperative manner to facilitate a positive working environment. 8. Employee will complete forms and documents as required. 9. Employee will represent the Company to the community with attention to the highest standard of conduct, appearance and attitude. 10. Employee will report to proper supervision job progress and all problems or other factors which affect the job, except recommendations for disciplinary action.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
Duties which may include but are not limited to:1. Employee will obtain special meter readings when required (sendbacks). 2. Employee will assist in obtaining customers keys or other means of entry to the meter in order that regular monthly readings can be taken and/or validated and report any existing condition code of the meter as required. 3. Employee will wear, maintain, repair and keep company furnished uniforms in a neat and clean manner.4. Read AMR routes daily as scheduled (also includes non AMR meters within AMR routes).5. Investigate misses daily.6. Be able to perform maintenance and installation of gas ERTS (replacing ERT on gas meter, programming the ERT with a FC300, and replace indexes).7. Investigate various AMR sendbacks generated by Billing Integrity.8. Routinely update AMR routes with proper instructions (maps, keys & gate codes).9. Install and change electric AMR meter and report any existing condition code in the handheld for meter inspections to ensure that meters meet performance and safety standards as required by the KPSC. Must accurately report all meter conditions/ meter codes using the handheld equipment. 10. Assist with annual validation of gas and electric AMR readings.11. Assist with Atmospheric Corrosion Survey.12. Assist with installing any new AMR routes.13. Ability to work Gas Curtailment when notified by Company.
