Primary Function:
To perform all tasks of an Inspector Level B and to conduct non-destructive examinations.
Tasks:
- Perform NDE in all areas of the Shop.
- Read and interpret documentation, including drawings and operating procedures.
- Create inspection reports, maintain and file documentation.
- Demonstrate good workmanship and practices.
- Communicate effectively with internal team members (i.e. peers, production leadership, project management, engineering) as well as customer representatives.
- Work in a safe manner, complying with all health, safety and environmental guidelines/regulations.
- Understand and adhere to quality requirements and productivity expectations.
Qualifications:
- Proven commitment to workplace safety.
- Must possess either MT Level 2 OR PT Level 2 PLUS 2 of the following 3:
- 2 years as a Fabrication/Machining inspector with BWXT
- 5 years as Fabrication/Machine inspector with documented evidence from an external company or 5 years Fitting/Welding experience within BWXT
- Certified Weld Inspector (AWS-CWI or CWB2)
- Previous experience in a heavy manufacturing environment or in nuclear power-related industry.
- Commitment to quality and the ability to work as a positive, effective team member, willing to go the extra mile to ensure we meet our customer expectations.
- Proficient with computer software.
- Available to work "off shifts":
- Nights: 4:00 p.m. - 2:00 a.m. (Mon - Thurs) OR
- Weekend days: 6:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Fri, Sat, Sun; paid for 40 hours) OR
- Weekend nights: 5:00 p.m. - 4:00 a.m. (Fri, Sat, Sun; paid for 40 hours)
PLEASE NOTE: The successful incumbent will need to work on Day Shift (6am to 4pm; 4 x 10's) for training purposes. The training will take a minimum of 3 weeks but may last up to 120 working days.
