This position within Construction Services supports the operations of SDG-E-s Vegetation Management Program in the execution of work associated with safety, compliance and service reliability.

  • Process all incoming work into the current work management systems. Includes creating service requests for district and customer safety checks, SORTS, IOs, Forester field requests, and CMP/QC requests. Applies company policies and procedures as it relates to the work.
  • Support respective contractor issuing and monitoring work activities for annual routine maintenance scheduled work, corrective maintenance work and various other projects. Prepare time-date sensitive VMA and environmental releases, removal cards, and other pertinent information for routine tree trim, project work, and off-cycle.
  • Customer communications support hub, educating, returning calls, and generating work related to department processes, procedures, and policies. Interacts with a variety of internal departments and external agencies. Verify and confirm completion of assigned work, close notifications and perform in work management systems.
  • Works with district ARSO dispatchers and Environmental Services to schedule onsite joint meet services, reviews orders for accuracy and ensure complete and detailed scope of work; verifies charge numbers and that environmental and permits are current and applicable to scope of work.
  • Takes receipt of and processes VMA Certifications and supporting document for all work activities. Maintain personal and company files and records in accordance with the Record Retention Policy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. Participates in storm and emergency drills, responds to emergency calls and provides critical support during emergency operations using FOCAL Point and GIS systems.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required. College courses are desired

  • Minimum of three years of customer service experience is required.

  • Utility background or experience preferred.

  • Microsoft Office proficiency required.

  • Strong technical writing skills preferred.

  • Working knowledge of Mainframe, GIS, SAP and DPSS/REAC desirable.

  • Must be able to multi-task and work well under pressure, independently as well as part of a team.

  • Must possess strong time management and organization skills and ability to prioritize.

  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work well in a variety of situations, with internal and external customers, city representatives, and government agencies.

  • Exercise flexibility, initiative, good judgment, and discretion.
