JOB OVERVIEW
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dedicated and results driven professional to join our Learning Innovations & Training Systems team in the role of Senior Systems Administrator in Pickering or Bowmanville, Ontario.
Reporting to the Section Manager, the Senior Systems Administrator will provide technical support and systems expertise on eLearning framework and other Training related applications. In addition, this role will work on Innovation initiatives to enhance or simplify Training delivery and processes.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Maintain electronic training content delivery for all OPG Staff and contractors;
- Maintain supported web application delivery;
- Manage Backup and Disaster Recovery strategy for multiple sections;
- Manage the evolution of existing systems environment, by implementing upgrades or enhancements to provide additional system functionality, problem correction, reliability, and maintainability;
- Supporting department leadership with careful technical advice on technology life-cycle issues;
- Providing a high level of customer service and communication to the training customer with the goal of maximizing training effectiveness and supporting nuclear safety;
- Maximizing reliability through good working behaviours and using both nuclear and software industry best practices;
- Knowledge of industry standards, trends and regulatory requirements.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's Degree in Software/Computer Engineering or Computer Science
QUALIFICATIONS
- 8 to 10 years of demonstrated hands-on experience in a corporate or industrial environment;
- Strong knowledge as Database Administrator and Designer for SQL server and maintaining eLearning infrastructure;
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server Administration, including deployment and troubleshooting;
- Solid knowledge of PowerShell;
- Solid knowledge of configuring and managing Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS);
- Working experience with Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager and Microsoft Active Directory Administration are highly desirable;
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Operations Manager 2016 or greater;
- Experience in providing operational support for applications;
- Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills. Ability to quickly assess, detect and correct errors and/or mitigate risks to the organization;
- Thorough attention to detail; able to prioritize and multitask; proactive and deadline-oriented;
- Sound professional judgment, initiative, with a results-oriented focus and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced changing environment;
- A solid understanding of information management practices, systems and current best practices and approaches;
- Experience and ability as a team player to understand and manage the interrelationships of various internal and external groups in order to facilitate objectives and ensure projects satisfy stakeholder requirements;
- Strong in understanding, executing and following governance and procedures with a questioning and analytical attitude/approach under minimum required supervision.
