JOB OVERVIEW
OPG is looking for a dedicated, results driven and dynamic professional to join our Quality Engineering team in the role of Technical Engineer/Officer located in Ajax, Ontario. Quality Engineering is a catlyst for continuous improvement in Refurbishment Engineering. OPG's Darlington Refurbishment Project, is one of Canada's largest clean-energy initiatives.
The Technical Engineer/Officer will have the opportunity to contribute to Ontario Power Generation by coordinating and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to understand schedules, finances and performance for the assigned projects.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Perform strategic oversight of Refurbishment Engineering division and determine areas for performance improvement along with recommendations;
- Identify process efficiencies, integrate / collaborate with the broader Refurbishment organization and communicate to ensure alignment;
- Gather input from stakeholder departments and agencies to ensure engineering and/or project requirements are captured and detailed in the appropriate documents;
- Ensure program assurance against the engineering procedures applicable to Refurbishment and maintain and/or update divisional program, plan and guides.
- Review and maintain awareness of all procedures pertinent to engineering, project control, and administration.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Applied Science
- Candidate must be fully licensed engineer in the province of Ontario, or be eligible to be licensed in the Province of Ontario
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ideal candidates will have worked in a Nuclear Engineering environment;
- Have experience in quality, design, project management and/or construction;
- Experience and ability as a team player to understand and manage the interrelationships of various internal and external groups in order to facilitate objectives and ensure projects satisfy stakeholder requirements;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and be capable leading meetings and giving presentations;
- Have experience and/or willingness to interface with vendors;
- Have a strong interest in fast-paced, challenging work environments where showing initiative and self motivation are assets;
- Proven track record of identifying areas for improvement, making recommendations to address them and delivering results;
- Strong in understanding, executing and following governance and procedures with a questioning and analytical attitude/approach under minimum required supervision;
- Have experience with OPG programs, Refurbishment Project and/or OPG's ECC Process (Engineering Change Control).
