General Accountabilities:- Prepare and revise Electrical Stations drawings and bills of material using manual or CADD systems.
- Review each assignment to understand all requirements, obtain any needed information and to be aware of any correlation or coordination necessary to complete the work on spec and on time.
- Understand scope of work for the preparation of detailed drawings and bills of material.
- Perform calculations as required, coordinate drawing production with others as necessary.
- Periodically supervise staff providing advice and guidance and checking the work of staff assigned to assist in work activities.
- Prepare electronic data for computer applications associated with design, material handling, drafting, sorting and similar digital data processing systems.
- Demonstrate and provide training on work methods, when required.
- Perform other duties as required.
Selection Criteria
Essential Competencies:
- Experience preparing drawings such as, but not limited to basic layout, list of steel, location of steel, electrical arrangement, grounding, cable and conduit, cable list, equipment drawings and related systems.
- Knowledgeable in AutoCAD and Meridian.
- A minimum of eight years related Stations Electrical drafting experience.
Essential Knowledge:
- Requires a sound knowledge of Electrical Layout and Electrical Arrangement drafting principles, to prepare drawings for the various engineering activities, procurement, construction, operation and/or maintenance associated with the type of work.
- Requires a knowledge of computer-aided drafting systems (CAD) to prepare Stations drawings.
- Requires a knowledge of English and grammar to communicate effectively with Supervisor, engineering staff, or other work groups.
- This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired through the successful completion of Grade XII in a Secondary, Commercial, or Technical school or by having equivalent level of education.
