Job Overview
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a recruitment professional to join our team in the temporary contract role of Recruiter in our Whitby location.
Reporting to the Manager, Recruitment, this role is responsible for the hiring of full time and temporary employees with a focus on hiring manager and candidate experience. The Recruiter ensures processes and governance is followed while helping OPG engage talent to meet organizational goals.

Key Accountabilities
- Assist line clients with their hiring requirements and ensure that appropriate process is followed. Ensure that clients are aware of the products and services available to them.
- Assist in defining client requirements, roles and responsibilities and ensure service delivery, timelines and effective candidate evaluation
- Candidate evaluations including; resume screening, phone screening, interviewing, testing and selection recommendations.
- Support various Diversity and Employment Equity initiatives.
- Assist with campus recruitment including on and off campus activities, out-reach, delivery of information sessions and virtual events.
- Help to drive changes to improve the recruitment process.
- Participate in appropriate networks and forums to maintain knowledge of leading practices in recruitment, contractor and talent attraction management
- Ongoing monitoring of vendors to check rates, compliance issues and candidate quality

Education
- 4 year university degree
Qualifications
We are seeking an experienced talent attraction professional with the following:
- 4+ years of experience in a corporate recruiting or agency environment (agency preferred);
- Experience recruiting engineering and utility professionals is preferred;
- Social media recruitment experience;
- Experience with SuccessFactors is an asset;
- Diversity or Employment Equity recruitment experience;
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal;
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to effectively manage multiple priorities;
- Strong recruitment advisory capabilities;
- Experience with a variety of social media tools and sourcing strategies;
- Ability to effectively screen engineering/technical candidates;
- Strong interest in technology and knowledge of current technology trends.
