Primary Purpose:
Designs, develops and delivers corporate-wide, comprehensive development systems, processes and programs such as succession planning, executive and early identification assessment, executive coaching, engagement surveys, and career development solutions. Works with officers, directors and Business Unit HR Representatives to design and implement customized solutions to meet development and organizational effectiveness needs of businesses in Sempra family of companies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the design, development, implementation and evaluation of comprehensive, corporate-wide development systems, processes and programs, to include oversight of a comprehensive succession planning process that includes online candidate profiles, monitoring and customizing candidate development plans, developing succession plans and related reports.
- Conducts company-wide Organization Development needs assessments; determines priorities and timelines of recommended deliverables.
- Acts as project manager for the implementation of corporate-wide employee development processes, systems, plans and programs. Project manages programs developed for all levels of leadership including senior officer candidates.
- Manages the OD Advisor to ensure day-to-day deliverables are met.
- Leverages technology to enhance assessment, career development, training and development and succession planning processes, programs and tools.
- Manages outside vendors to ensure the delivery of key development programs, systems and resources.
- Provides executive coaching and career counseling to directors and high potential candidates.
- Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Development, Organizational Psychology, Industrial Psychology, Organizational Behavior or Communications required.
Experience:
- 8 years equivalent training and/or experience.
Skills and Abilities:
- Requires exceptional presentation, delivery and facilitation skills and highly developed interpersonal and coaching skills.
- Possesses strong team and client focus, must earn the trust and respect of executives.
- Must be able to influence and lead cross organizational teams company-wide.
- Must demonstrate leadership skills to effectively manage employees, projects and client relationships.
- Must be able to reset priorities to meet changing business needs and goals.
- Requires innovation and conceptual thinking skills to analyze complex problems and propose solutions, often involving both technical and operational constraints.
- Requires strong analytical skills and the ability to oversee the implementation of software and supporting technology tools.
- Must be skilled in communicating with others, both verbally and in writing.
- Advanced skill with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is required.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Must have or complete certification programs in organizational development, training and development, and human resources as dictated by department strategies and program decisions.
