Supports CPS Energy's Industrial Control Systems; Electric Generation, Transmission, and Distribution SCADA systems as well as Gas Transmission and Distribution SCADA systems. This includes the new distributive generation and renewable energy technology that has been introduced to the utility industry in the past several years such as solar farms, battery storage, wind farms, and landfill generation. This individual is responsible for the database programming, configuration, maintenance, and acceptance testing of the remotely located Generation, Gas, and Electric RTU's (remote terminal units), IED's (intelligent electronic devices), Distribution Automation Controllers, Communication Processors, Flow Computers, Ultrasonic Meters, PLC's, and Chromatographs. There is a SCADA Specialist on call duty 24/7 for reactive maintenance of real-time SCADA systems. After hours work will occasionally be required. Call duty is required on a rotating basis throughout the department.

Tasks and Responsibilities
Will learn how to program and configure RTU's, IED's and Flow Computers so database point structure aligns with points in the master SCADA systems
Calibrate and certify natural gas measurement equipment
Will work side by side a senior SCADA Specialist for many months prior to working alone and pulling call duty
Assistance from the supervisor is only necessary if the incumbent feels uncomfortable with overall impact of a decision, overtime approval, procedure changes are needed, project scheduling issues arise, corporate strategic objectives could be affected, or the decision may adversely affect the area's budget
Frequently assists generation, gas and electric engineering with SCADA project issues
Assists large customers and surrounding utilities with their SCADA systems that are connected to our systems
Will support CPS Energy's electric, gas, and generation systems
Remains abreast of changes in operation of generation, electric and gas SCADA systems in service
Will support NERC/CIP password management, asset management, and other duties as requested to ensure the reliability of the BES (bulk electric system)
Coordinates with System Operators, Energy Controllers and Control Room Operators any work that will affect their system
Reviews the work of private contractors to insure CPS Energy standards are being met
Interacts and coordinates with many internal departments in order to maintain, expand or enhance the gas, electric and generation SCADA systems at CPS Energy
Performs station monitoring & control point to point acceptances prior to turning stations over to operators for use
Performs record-keeping of equipment databases, configurations, wiring diagrams and station drawings on our secure repository
