General Accountabilities:- Full life cycle support of network infrastructure required for the support of the Integrated Operating Facilities used in the real-time monitoring and control of the transmission system
- Support system designs and software through their lifecycle, including requirements definition, design, specification, implementation plans, project costing and procurement, installation, commissioning, production support and decommissioning.
- Provide support and assistance to other team members and end-users to identify and troubleshoot system problems.
- Manage problems handed over by 1st level support through to resolution, including any required design changes, emergency fixes or support required from vendor support organizations.
- Evaluate and maintain current knowledge of emerging technologies and commercial services to ascertain suitability for use.
- Provide on-call support for systems issues as required.
- Interact with other departments, divisions, or external organizations in support of Power System IT objectives.
- Perform other duties as required.

Essential Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications:
- Requires intermediate to advanced knowledge of power system engineering theory, computer applications and complex computer systems running in a mission critical, real time environment.
- This knowledge is normally acquired through the completion of four years of University training or equivalent plus up to 6 years relevant experience.
- Four to six years of experience supporting advanced real time systems, applications and tools at a large scale transmission operating centre.
- Requires an in-depth understanding of the Hydro One Transmission system.
- Requires experience with change control, incident control, source control, and release procedures
