Overview
The Power Optimization Center (POC) is dedicated to providing unsurpassed, advanced monitoring and diagnostics services to generation and production facilities. Industry-seasoned engineers and experienced process control operators excel in identifying incipient and long-term equipment issues around the clock, providing actionable intelligence directly to those responsible for real-time operations. With no ties to parts or services organizations, the success of the Power Optimization Center is driven by the competitive market advantage its clients achieve through realizing maximum asset performance.
Through the integration of remote monitoring, modeling, and diagnostics, the POC identifies, forecasts and advises plant personnel of emergent issues impacting production saving millions of dollars by detecting small issues before the need for surmounting larger issues and by performing scheduled and on-demand plant performance assessments increasing efficiency. This position can work independently applying extensive SME knowledge to solve multiple projects. The position must coordinate effectively with all work groups.

Responsibilities
- Comply with safety policy and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
- Identify and perform tasks as required to meet objectives
- Lead interpretation and analysis of complex issues
- Coordinate assigned projects, studies and initiatives through completion
- Prepare and present reports including recommendation to resolve complex issues providing multiple solutions
- Participate in and lead special projects and committees
- Lead complex problem-solving efforts
- Work with multiple business units
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 4 yrs Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical, Industrial, Nuclear)
- 8 yrs related job experience
- Registered PE (or 10 yrs of experience without a PE)
- Experience in Power Generation (CCGT/coal/nuclear/solar/wind)
- Proficient computer skills in Windows programs (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Time-series data analysis experience
- Experience with data analysis software applications (e.g. PredictIt, SmartSignal, EtaPRO, OSISoft PI)
- Team work and collaboration skills within all levels of organization
- Able to communicate complex issues effectively, written and verbal
- Able to influence by establishing effective working relationships
- Recognized subject matter expert for an important power plant component and/or system that is valuable to the company
- Able to apply a broad range of problem solving processes and/or techniques to address complex issues providing multiple solutions
