As the Control Systems EMS Analyst, you will maintain system administration and integration for the real-time systems associated with the Transmission Operations Energy Management System (REDE EMS) and associated network infrastructure. Provide expertise in Linux and Microsoft Windows server administration. This includes hardware configuration, operating systems, application software and network infrastructure administration that makes up the EMS. Linux and Windows system administration, security and network infrastructure administration, Cyber Security policy implementation and development, documentation, and implementation of internal and external operational policies and standards.

Specifically, you'll have the opportunity to:
- Manages and monitors computer systems and appliances that support transmission real-time operations and distribution control at the Energy Control Center (ECC) and Addicks Operations Center (AOC).
- System Administration for Linux and Windows servers in a real-time environment.
- System Administration for the EMS infrastructure. Including the configuration and management of network switches, routers and firewalls and the EMS software.
- Responsible for installation, upgrades, patching and backups for server OS, network OS, and EMS software.
- Write programs and scripts as needed to perform System Administration tasks.
- Configuration management for the EMS and ADMS Systems; Integrate system software and applications; install new system builds and system upgrades.
- Create and review security and compliance documents as required. Document System Management activity in compliance with NERC standards. Maintain audit ability for all system integration activities.
- Review system logs to identify and correct problems.
- Provides support for CIP audits, spot-checks, self-certifications, and data requests from NERC and Texas Reliability Entity.
- Develops consistent and streamlined operational processes and procedures
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or technology, IT or an equivalent field from an accredited college or university.
- (will consider relevant job-related CenterPoint Energy experience for non-degree candidates)
