JOB FAMILY SUMMARY PURPOSE
Under limited supervision of the Superintendent of Distribution Systems, is responsible for performing various technical and analytical functions in support of the Distribution Systems' efforts to provide outstanding customer service. 

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate with or without a reasonable accommodation that the essential functions of the job can be performed.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

1.      Enrolled as a full-time undergraduate college student (12 hours or more) or a full-time graduate college student (9 hours or more) in a 4-year college/university.
2.      Maintain full-time undergraduate or graduate enrollment throughout the duration of the internship.
3.      Classified as a Sophomore, Junior, Senior or Graduate student.
4.      Maintain an overall GPA at a minimum of 3.0/4.0 or above.
5.      Knowledge of various engineering software packages such as ETAP or similar.
6.      Ability to operate personal computers and various software applications such as Word, Excel, and Access.
7.      Experience in a mapping or drafting capacity.   
8.      Knowledge of office practices and procedures, computerized record system or database and report generating systems.
9.      Effective verbal and written communication skills.
10.    Ability to maintain effective working relationships with officers, managers, fellow employees, and the general public.
11.    Ability to maintain a strong sense of propriety concerning confidential matters.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1.    Assists in the preparation of weekly and monthly reports and spreadsheets.
2.    Assists engineers in equipment outage information.
3.    Assists engineers in verifying distribution system equipment locations and status through field visits.
4.    Researches outage data related to customer concerns and prepares responses to customers explaining causes the outages and company efforts to address these  problems.
5.    Assists in data collection and record keeping for the pole inspection program.
6.    Assists the engineers in data entry for the various system study programs.
7.    Assists the engineers in data collection and entry for the various maintenance programs.
8.    Assists engineers in maintaining, updating, and revising the capacitor bank database.
9.    Assists in the maintaining, updating and revising of the distribution switch numbering book.
10.  Assists engineers in compiling and analyzing data for the preparation of fuse coordination studies.
11.  Valid driver's license and be in compliance with the Company's Driving Program policy.
12.  Complies with all applicable Company policies, procedures and code of ethics as well as all applicable governmental laws and regulations to include employment, safety and environmental standards and regulations. 

13.  Perform other related tasks that are not included but are within the context of the duties defined.
