Position Purpose
This is an intern level maintenance and operations position. Perform basic to routine skill level work under moderate supervision/oversight, in order to clean, check, inspect, repair, maintain, operate and install various pieces of equipment.
Required Education & Experience
Candidate must be currently enrolled and pursuing technical degree in industrial electricity, electronics, applied process technology or related field. Candidate must maintain 2.5 GPA in the degree program Requires excellent computer skills with knowledge and experience using Excel. Above average interpersonal written/oral communication skills required. Able to troubleshoot and analysis mechanical or electrical problems
Job Description
Employee will be knowledgeable of and follow all safety rules, procedures and practices. Actively participate and successfully complete assigned training activities and requirements. In normal performance of duties, employee will watch for and promptly report to supervision any damaged or defective equipment or conditions which may cause damage or injury. Employee will perform duties of lower or higher classifications that are incidental to the job and are within their capabilities, including those needed for purpose of training in the requirements of the higher classification. Employee will keep all equipment, tools, materials, and work areas in a clean and orderly condition. Employee will perform work in a responsible and cooperative manner to facilitate a positive working environment. Employee will represent the Company to the community with attention to the highest standards of conduct, appearance and attitude. Intern is expected to prepare and take the POSS/MASS test measuring job responsive aptitude, ability to retain knowledge, and problem solving skills. Perform basic or routine maintenance activities to check, inspect repair, maintain, and install station instrumentation and controls equipment and systems. Assist employees of higher classifications, and supply them with necessary tools, equipment and materials; upon completion of jobs, assist in gathering up and returning tools, equipment, and surplus materials in a clean and serviceable condition. Clean equipment undergoing repairs, handle and move material supplies and equipment in connection with the work and work area. Maintain area in clean and safe condition. Perform basic/routine dismantling and assembly work, bolt and unbolt, connect and disconnect. Operate as directed, and in a safe and proficient manner: hand tools, power tools, meters, test equipment, hoists, drill presses, grinders, and other tools and equipment pertaining to the work. Assist in electrical and instrument repair, calibration, and troubleshooting. Assist in lubricating station equipment. Operate vehicles for transporting men, tools, materials, and equipment as assigned. Assist as directed, employees of any classification in carrying through work assignments. Comply with all safety rules related to the position and plant operations. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
