Position Summary
The UAS Pilot will be responsible for executing UAS missions for a variety of Duke Energy business units, in a variety of geographic locations, leveraging a variety of sensors.
Responsibilities
- Flying UAS for various business units across Duke Energy's footprint
- Other non-flying tasks supporting the execution of UAS missions and the continued integration of the technology at Duke Energy
Working Conditions
- Extensive outdoor activity while monitoring or operating UAS, with exposure to a wide range of weather conditions.
- Must possess valid driver's license and capable of lifting 50 pounds.
Basic/Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree or two years of applicable work experience in lieu of degree
- FAA Remote Pilot Certification, NC DOT UAS Certification
- Extensive knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations, airspace, weather, and aircraft performance.
Desired Qualifications
- FAA Pilots License
- Understanding of Data Analytics and Data Processing
- 400 hours of flight time Part 107 and/or Part 61
- 200 hours of flight time supporting critical infrastructure inspections
- Demonstrated interpersonal, human relations and communications skills to work efficiently with customers, team mates, and management
- Ability to effectively influence and advise upper management
- Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and accurately using verbal and written communications
- Effective presentation skills
- Effectively negotiates with others to reach agreement which will meet the organization's needs and those of others
- Ability to conduct effective meetings.
- Builds positive working relationships with colleagues, HR, participants, and clients
