Overview
Primoris Willbros Canada is an infrastructure contractor serving major firms in the oil, gas, power, petrochemical, and heavy oil industries and include services covering tailings and hydro-transport pipeline construction and maintenance, storage tank construction and maintenance, industrial facilities multi-discipline construction and maintenance, piping fabrication, and pipeline integrity services.
SUMMARY
The Sub Arc Welder will be responsible for following welding specifications for structural fabrication, through means of hand Welding, while adhering to and promoting HSE programs.
Responsibilities
- Operate a LT7 tractor in flat position for floor and roof
- Operate an Automatic Girth Welder (AGW), single side or double side for horizontal welds
- Fit up horizontal seams
- Read and interpret welding process specifications
- Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as shielded metal arc (SMAW), flux-core arc (FCAW)
- Operate manual or semi-automatic flame cutting equipment
- Weld components in flat and horizontal positions
- Working in physically demanding surroundings, with inclement weather
- Promote a safe work environment at all times
- Various other duties as requested by management
Qualifications
- Must possess a valid, Journeyman Welding Certificate, Wire Process Operator ticket, or have extensive experience with Sub Arc Welding
- Minimum 2 years' Sub Arc experience would be considered an asset
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
- Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Screening is a standard requirement for all Primoris craft positions
- Ability to pass welding qualification test (SAW)
- Must be able to produce valid safety ticket, including:
- CSTS-09 or CSO
- OSSA AWP
- OSSA Confined Space
- OSSA Fall Protection
- H2S Alive
