Eversource Energy (Eversource) owns and operates the Waterbury LNG Facility located in Waterbury, CT (Facility). The Facility consists of one 1.2 BCF LNG storage tank, a 120 MMSCFD send out system, and a liquefaction and pre-treatment system capable of liquefying up to 6 MMSCFD.
The LNG Maintenance Supervisor will ensure the Facility is safely, reliably and efficiently maintained such that operations during liquefaction and send-out seasons are un-interrupted by managing a team who will perform the necessary maintenance requirements for the Facility. The Maintenance Supervisor will report to the Plant Superintendent.
The LNG Maintenance Supervisor must understand all aspects of the Facility maintenance activities, including: pretreatment and liquefaction, storage, transfer systems, truck offloading systems, vaporization, and utility systems.
In addition, the LNG Maintenance Supervisor must understand all aspects of LNG Facility security, regulatory compliance requirements (49 CFR Part 193 and NFPA 59A), plant maintenance procedures, equipment, and maintenance requirements.
Essential Functions:
- Supervise a team of about 3 maintenance technicians specialized in the maintenance of instrumentation, control, electrical systems and general equipment at the LNG plant.
- Oversee/monitor and control the maintenance requirements of LNG storage, liquefaction, truck loading/offloading, and send-out systems.
- Establish and promote a culture of safety, regulatory compliance, and environmental responsibility.
- Identify areas of improvement to maintain, safety, and security.
- Develop and implement necessary training to maintenance staff.
- Ensuring maintenance procedures are developed, reviewed, and implemented in an efficient manner.
- Evaluate operational personnel on a regular basis to ensure they have the necessary core competencies to carry out operational requirements.
- Coordinate maintenance, personnel scheduling and staffing requirements.
- Communicate with federal, state, and local regulators
- Coordinate and communicate with plant operations and engineering departments and external stakeholders.
- Ensure Eversource corporate requirements are communicated to maintenance staff and that policies are implemented and followed.
- Manage and oversee any 3rd party maintenance contracts including supervision and compliance of 3rd party maintenance contractors with Eversource policies and procedures.
- Network with other facility Maintenance Supervisor to share lessons learned, experiences, and knowledge to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
- Ensure regulatory compliance for Federal Energy Regulatory, Department of Transportation's Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, and Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities inspections.
- Ensure vendor recommendations for maintenance activities are followed.
- Develop, schedule, and implement the Facility maintenance activities in accordance with regulatory requirements, vendor recommendations, and good practices.
- Assist in the development and implementation of LNG plant policies.
- The LNG Plant Maintenance Supervisor must be able to become qualified to operate the LNG plant.

- Effective communication with different groups, including operations staff, maintenance staff, engineering departments, human resources, federal, state, and local regulators, external stakeholders, and other Eversource corporate groups.
- Ability to clearly and effectively write, implement, and maintain maintenance procedures.
Education: Ideal candidates should possess (1) a Bachelor or Associate degree in engineering or relevant technical discipline or (2) equivalent work experience.
Experience: Ideal candidates should have at least five (5) years of relevant maintenance experience and demonstrable/verifiable knowledge of mechanical equipment maintenance requirements (i.e. compressors, pumps, instrumentation systems, control systems, etc.)
