Description
Duties:
* Conducts current and future needs assessment for Indigenous Relations and prioritizes needs
* Participates in the research, assessment and development of business strategies pertaining to Indigenous Relations. Identifies and analyzes issues and develops options for consideration. May assume the lead role in managing key Indigenous Relations issues and initiatives for the company
* Monitors other business groups' satisfaction with Indigenous Relations and develops options for corrective action as necessary
* Highly knowledgeable on the interconnection of Indigenous Relations' priorities and strategic plans to BCH's overall priorities/strategic plan
* Represents the position of Indigenous Relations on various cross business group projects. May act as the key spokesperson on issues presented to BC Hydro Executive Team and/or Senior Management tables
* Monitors developments in federal and provincial Indigenous policy and ensures BC Hydro's alignment. Develops policy positions on emerging issues in Indigenous relations
* Reviews and develops materials for briefing BC Hydro Senior Management, Executive and Board. Drives consistency among regional teams around materials preparation
* Responds to queries directed to the Executive and the BC Hydro Board
* Escalates emergencies or "hot topics" to the Executive (through the appropriate channels) for attention
* May liaise with Senior Directors and Executives in other business groups in order to ensure Indigenous Relations' initiatives have the required buy in and support for effective implementation.
