Overview
Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician - Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanics (Off Road) maintain, repair and overhaul heavy vehicles and industrial heavy equipment, both towed and self-propelled.

Shift: 7/7 ( may vary however)
Camp : Provided
*** Position can be local to Fort McMurray or Camp***
Responsibilities
- Maintenance and repair of internal combustion engines and components, both stationary and mobile.
- Ensure repairs are carried out according to manufacturer's procedures and in safe and responsible manner within the designated timeframe
- Interpret work orders and technical manuals
- Keep equipment cleaned, lubricated and maintained
- Diagnose faults and malfunctions
- Troubleshoot and communicate equipment performance with mechanics
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that the work done meets manufacturers specifications and legislated regulations
- Write service reports in a timely and efficient manner.
- Training and/or assisting other technicians or apprentices with their work
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
- Certified Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic
- MUST have experience with CAT pipelayers
- 5 years experience working with Caterpillar equipment
- Being familiar with Pipeline equipment an asset
- Ability to think logically/problem solve and keep up with changes in technology
- Familiar with parts and service manual
- Work in a team environment and communicate well with other
- Physical ability to lift 50lbs and to climb in/ under units in the field
- Organized & self motivated
Other Requirements:
- CSTS or CSO
- Must be able to pass pre access testing.
