Job Description
The Maintenance Planner (MP) develops preventative and corrective maintenance requirements for power plant equipment and implements maintenance schedules. MP utilizes SAP computerized maintenance management software (CMMS) module to determine maintenance team work items and performs quality assurance review of completed work documents. MP is the maintenance team's primary resource for work involving power plant systems/equipment, equipment and site safety and applicable regulatory compliance. MP monitors compliance related maintenance activities to ensure reports and responses are provided on time and documented in CMMS system. MP intiates contractor support activities, determines related job scope and initiates contract process. MP interfaces with SDG&E safety, environmental, contracts and security teams. MP directly supports San Diego Generation: Palomar Energy Center, Miramar Energy Facility, Cuyamaca Peak Energy Plant, Escondido BESS, El Cajon BESS, Miguel VRF BESS, and Ramona Solar Project.
The Maintenance Planner works closely with Generation Management, Staff, Engineers, and Technicians on a daily base both administratively and in the field.

- Develop and coordinate all maintenance related activities to ensure San Diego Generation coplies with all preventative/corrective maintenance requirements. Oversee maintenance program and monitor daily maintenance activities. Perform field spot checks.
- Work closely with San Diego Generation managers, engineers, staff, and operations and maintenance technicians to ensure maintenance outage and Generation site projects are completed satisfactorily. Assist or advise personnel task accomplishment and provides vendor resouces to complete tasking out of scope for onsite maintenance personnel.
- Interface with other corporate business units (supply management, regulatory affairs, security, facilities) as required to address generation site management.
- Work with Generation maintenance/operations personnel to insure safety issues in maintenance work accomplishment and plant operations are resolved. Ensures maintenance tasking comply with regulatory requirements for San Diego Generation.
- Coordinate with federal, state and local regulatory personnel to ensure proper compliance for San Diego Generation.
- Review documentation, procedures, reports, standards, regulations, etc.
- Provide backup to warehouse for material receiing activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Requires Bachelors degree or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years power plant experience in at least one of the following disciplines: mechanical/electrical/Instrumentation & Controls.
- Previous experience developing and or implement preventative/corrective maintenance program is desireable. Significant experience with SAP CMMS system is highly desireable.
- Ability to communicate, discuss and resolve problems concerning maintenance issues is critical to the position.
- Experience with working from technical manuals/documentation/plant drawings.
- Experience in development of contractual agreements and evaluation of service quotes/proposals is desireable.
- General knowledge or experience in working with regulatory standards and requirments.
- Experience interfacing with contractor management and providing onsite contractor oversight is desireable.
- Experienced with Microsoft Office software products.
