The Apprentice Engineering Technician performs assignments on work in connection with the construction, operation and maintenance of the electric systems as qualified through formalized and/or on the job training. This position also performs drafting work, maintains record systems, performs field investigation work, and prepares reports.
Required:
- Must possess mechanical aptitude and possess a temperament suitable to duties that require patience and accuracy.
- High school graduate or equivalent, having completed courses in Mechanical Drawing, Mathematics and Physics.
- Because the job requires driving to company locations and off-site assignments and events, must possess a valid driver's license with a safe and satisfactory driver history.
- Must have the ability to satisfactorily complete the Company training courses.
- Must exercise good judgment and demonstrate a willingness to learn.
- Must have successfully completed the Technician-Apprentice Engineering Technician Test.
Desired:
- Electric Distribution field experience
- Degree or technical experience
- General experience with computer applications
- Experience working on project work
Employees entering this position shall be required to complete a minimum time in position and will be restricted from applying for others positions within the company for a period of four years.
Automatic progression from Apprentice Engineering Technician to Engineering Technician.
