Description
The Sales Support Manager is responsible for managing a team of sales support analysts and professionals who set up, guide, and process retail electricity sales transactions. The incumbent will work closely with the VP of Sales to develop, implement and manage an effective, efficient and highly accountable process to support sales of retail electricity to Commercial and Industrial clients. Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage, train and develop Talen Energy's sales support team.
  • Manage daily tasks associated with supporting sales transactions and ensure smooth transaction flow.
  • Oversee and support sales activities in coordination with the sales support team, sales professionals, and other retail teams.
  • Ensure consistency in core processes across each sales support team member.
  • Develop and maintain a framework to measure team's productivity and accuracy.
  • Work with Retail Executive team and others to implement improvements to processes and systems.
  • Handle one-off requests for complicated or unique sales products, bids, etc.
  • Maintain and develop strong, positive working relationships across the Retail organization, as well as Credit, Legal, and Risk.
  • Oversee correct implementation of Deal Capture process.
  • Collaboratively work with Pricing Manager and Operations Manager to deliver. smooth end-to-end process and customer experience.
  • Perform related job duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in business field or demonstrated experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years in analytics, sales support, or related position with at least 2 years in deregulated electricity retail.
  • Minimum of 2 years of managing a team with a demonstrated ability to lead.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint computer applications.
  • Experience working with one or more customer relationship management (CRM) systems, preferably Salesforce.com.
  • Excellent communication skills, and ability to positively work through urgent sales requests.
  • Good business judgment with ability to quickly re-prioritize.
  • Ability to function efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
