This position reports to, and will back-up the Security Command Center (SCC) Manager, with responsibility for day-to-day operations, procedures and processes.

This Position engages and interacts with Lines of Business, to provide sensible, cost-efficient, and proactive solutions to promote a safe work environment enhance physical and operational security and optimize crime prevention.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Supervise and assume accountability for SCC daily operations including activities of all SCC Operators.
  • Oversee contract field security officers and coordinate activities with the PSEG Long Island Asset Protection & Investigations team for any events that may impact employees and operations.
  • Provide first response to security incidents.  Escalate response as needed, including initiation of Crisis Management Plan.   Coordinate activity with Critical Network Infrastructure (CNI).
  • Assure SCC state of readiness' by certifying access control and CCTV equipment is in working order, through proactive maintenance checks and, when a failure is detected, by initiating requests to support personnel for repair activity.   
  • Produce and issue company-wide identification badges for employees and vendors; manage physical access privileges, and vendor badge expiration and extension processes. 
  • Ensure timely creation and distribution of monthly reports detailing SCC operations and badging activity, including maintenance of a database for damaged, defective, lost and stolen company identification badges.
  • Assure timely execution of responsibilities related to North American Reliability Corporation (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Work extended or unusual hours during adverse weather and crisis events, altering SCC operations accordingly.
  • This position requires driving to company locations and off-site assignments and events, applicants must possess a valid driver's license with a safe and satisfactory driver history.

Required Education, Experience, Competencies and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a security, engineering, or a technically-related discipline; or,
  • In lieu of a bachelor's degree four years of Security Site Supervisory or Security Operations  or related experience
  • Strong working knowledge of physical security, Security Operation Centers, and  Industry and Company's policies, practices pertinent to security
  • Working familiarity with the Microsoft Office applications; full familiarity with Word and Excel
  • Ability to quickly transition from audio-visual and computer generated alarms in a virtual environment

Preferred Education, Experience, Competencies and Skills

  • Knowledge of FERC, NERC-CIP, and other regulations applicable to PSEG-LI
  • Knowledge of CI/CNI regulatory requirements (critical infrastructure)
