Description
This position is responsible for inspecting the work of internal and contractor crews performing construction and maintenance activities for Gas Distribution. Ensures that work is performed in accordance with all federal, state, and company construction standards and procedures and all safety rules and standards established by the Company and required by law. The QC Specialist has the authority to direct and stop, if necessary, work to ensure compliance with all requirements. This position is an authorized company representative when on job sites and has the authority to make decisions, within their area of responsibility, on behalf of the Company.
- Ensures safe work practices are being employed in accordance with the Company's Health and Safety Handbook.
- Ensures all work activities are being performed in accordance with Gas Distribution construction standards and operating procedures. Verifies that the work is being performed by qualified personnel.
- Verifies that work packages are in order with appropriate work procedures as required, mark out ticket, and mapping information.
- Oversees resources associated with the Company's re-dig program.
- Involved in the on-boarding of contractors and verifies that all aspects of the Company's Operator Qualification Plan are being followed.
- Identifies conditions adverse to Company quality control standards and makes recommendations for corrective action.
- Responsible for accurate documentation of inspection results.
- Responsible to audit contractors QA/QC records, files and programs as required.
