Responsibilities
AltaLink is committed to actively supporting developing engineers by providing them with opportunities for a breadth of experience in a variety of technical and project roles early in their career. New graduates will have the opportunity to start in one of several key Engineering areas. POSITION 1 - Project Development
- Develop customer and system projects consisting of transmission lines, telecommunication, SCADA, P&C and substation equipment.
- Aid in the preliminary scoping of above projects as well as in the analysis of their system impacts.
- Potential opportunity to design basic capital replacement projects. POSITION 2 -Eng Standards & Support
- Participate in the development AltaLink's Engineering Standards portfolio including written standards, specifications, and drawings for AltaLink's power system assets.
- Update and evolve AltaLink's list of standardized equipment and material as well as AltaLink's technically approved manufacturers
- Provide technical support for AltaLink's Engineering Standards Process as well as the standards themselves
- Provide technical support for internal and cross-company procurement initiatives.
- Support the study of protection coordination in AltaLink's system
Qualifications
If you will be graduating with an Electrical Engineering Degree by January or May 2019, you have an opportunity to join our Powerful Team! Other qualifications include:
- Working knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
- Proven ability to work in a team environment and develop strong internal and external relationships
- Superior organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage a wide variety of issues simultaneously
