The Process Excellence Specialist, Transmission will support the execution of the Performance Excellence Framework by providing analytical support and business guidance across a wide range of projects. This position is part of the Process Enablement team supporting the following end to end Transmission value streams: Respond & Make Safe, Maintain and Comply, Measure and Serve, and Replace and Grow.
Key tasks include:
- Where performance shortfalls exist against key process metrics, work with the relevant business function leads to define the root cause and support those leads to implement effective corrective action plans.
- Work with Process Improvement Managers on achieving key project deliverables.
- Help to define and manage process metrics, using a customer centric approach.
- Support the deployment of Performance Excellence in the business, building local capability and engagement.
- Implementing performance hubs
- Facilitating creative problem solving (CPS) efforts
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Support the systematic analysis of processes across business functions in order to identify process inefficiencies and opportunities for improving operational and customer service performance.
- Use root cause analysis and data analytics to investigate the cause of performance issues and co-develop countermeasures and action plans with the business
- Assess the value, feasibility and risk of process initiatives, in order to provide a set of priority initiatives for the process team and business functions to take forward.
- Work with Finance to develop compelling business cases for process improvement initiatives with which to gain buy-in from business process stakeholders.
- In response to identified opportunities, develop and integrate process improvement change plans across business functions, ensuring effective communications and successful engagement of staff.
- Record the benefits of improvement initiatives in order to share best practice elsewhere in the business and help demonstrate the value from process innovation.
- Set up mechanisms to develop process improvement capabilities, such as six-sigma, lean competency system (LCS) and lean techniques, within the business.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest technological developments and ways of working, drawing on external best practice approaches with which to re-engineer existing processes.
- Mobilize highly motivated, talented and innovative project teams to ensure successful delivery of business process improvements.
- Work with other Process teams internally and externally to ensure progress towards best practice.
- Facilitate workshops and meetings, using cross-functional teams to undertake analysis, solve problems, drive engagement and develop solutions to process issues.
