Description
This position is part of the System Operations department and is responsible for the real-time, 24x7 operation of the Gulf Power bulk electric system. Responsibilities include managing and directing field personnel in performing switching operations, monitoring and operating the network transmission and sub-transmission systems, and assessing and responding to transmission system trouble. A Power System Coordinator (PSC) has the ultimate responsibility and accountability for the integrity of Gulf Power Company's electrical transmission system by making critical decisions regarding system operations.

The Power System Coordinator position provides reliable service to Gulf Power Company's customers through safe, reliable, and efficient coordination of transmission lines, substations, voltages and all associated equipment during maintenance, construction, and restoration activities. The Coordinator is also accountable for helping to manage the energy accounting balancing of Gulf Power's territorial load on a consistent basis. This position will be filled at our Exempt Level 04, 05, or 06 depending on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

Job Experience and Education

  • Four-year technical degree, or two-year technical degree and 3 years of Electric Transmission & Distribution (T&D) or Generation experience, or no degree and 5 years of T&D or Generation experience desired;

  • North American Electric Reliability Council (NERC) Transmission Operator certification a plus;

  • Experience in a Control Center environment a plus.
