About Corporate Security:
The primary responsibility of Corporate Security is to protect worker safety, prevent crime on SCE property, and mitigate risks of physical attacks to critical infrastructure. Physical security operations within Corporate Security covers contract security officer services, the Edison Security Operations Center (ESOC), investigation of security incidents and threats, intelligence-gathering, the SCE Badging Office, NERC Physical Security compliance, and background investigations and PRAs.
Position Overview
The Edison Security Operations Center (ESOC) is a 24/7 operations center tasked with monitoring security systems throughout the SCE territory. The ESOC receives and responds to thousands of alarms and handles hundreds of phone calls daily. Security Specialists assigned to the ESOC are the first line support on multiple security related incidents. These individuals serve and partner with key business units throughout SCE. ESOC Security Specialists provide oversight and make key decisions for security operations and provide detailed real time reporting on incidents. Security Specialists are expected to possess a broad knowledge of security practices and policies.
Typical Responsibilities:
- Our Security Specialists are assigned to the Edison Security Operations Center (ESOC) where they will be tasked with maintaining security situational awareness for the entire SCE service territory
- You will oversee operations within the ESOC and communicate with management as required
- Analyze security related information received from multiple sources and manage the necessary response, and make notifications
- Participate in planning and developing security strategies
- Coordinate with multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Provide analysis and reporting using security systems as well as external sources
- Assist with security related projects as required
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Three years of experience in security, law enforcement, military, or related field
- Experience working in a command and control center environment
- Experience using security software (i.e. CCTV, access control, emergency notification systems)
- Experience using Microsoft Office
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Criminal Justice or a related field.
- ASIS CPP or PSP certification
- PMP certification
- Team lead or supervisory experience
Comments:
- Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work directly as employees for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship.
- The primary work location for this position is Irwindale, CA
- Position will require up to 10% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
- Relocation does not apply to this position
- This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties
