Qualifications: Central Construction is looking to recruit highly motivated, industrious and resourceful individuals to join the Central Construction team as Chief Construction Inspector. The successful candidates must be self-starters, responsible, articulate, and able to exercise good judgment and render sound business decisions. Knowledge of and experience with environmental laws and regulations, and OSHA rules and regulations for construction, to ensure environmental, health and safety compliance is required. Must demonstrate a positive work ethic in support of the Corporate Values and Mission, and be able to work toward meeting the department goals and Key Performance Indicators. Strong oral and written communication skills as well as good interpersonal skills is required to effectively interact with internal and external customers, including contractors, regulatory officials, community representatives. In addition, the candidates must have the flexibility to handle multiple assignments and ensure that project schedules and budgets are maintained. Familiarity with and the ability to read, interpret, apply and enforce Con Edison's drawings, specifications, and procedures is required. Knowledge/experience in contract administration, contract and material procurement and permitting processes and procedures is required. A Bachelor's degree and 2 years field construction experience, or Associates Degree and 4 years field construction experience, or H.S. Diploma/GED and 5 years work experience field construction experience is required. Must be proficient and have a working knowledge of Microsoft office products, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project. Selected candidates will be required to take and pass the courses mandated for this position and other training such as asbestos monitor, lead competency, work permits and incident command when necessary.
