About the Opportunity
This is an open position with FENOC, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [DBN]
This position serves as a member of the Rapid Response Engineering Team at the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station. This group serves as the first responders for most day-to-day demands of Site Engineering and is the first point of contact for engineering support of emergent plant activities (Priority 300, 400 or below).
Responsibilities at the Nuclear Rapid Response Engineer include:
- Developing engineering solutions to emergent issues in support of plant operation and maintenance for activities that are in the 12-week work management cycle.
- Preparing engineering change packages, specifications and technical support to "protect the 12-week schedule."
- Serve as initial responder to requests for component support.
- Providing engineering output documents such as minor modifications and corrective action responses.
- Performing change evaluations for design and licensing basis.
- Interfacing with other units within engineering for necessary support.
- Managing and completing assigned activities to support timely implementation of required plant operations.
- Interfacing with customers to identify needs and providing rapid response engineering solutions to facilitate operational effectiveness.
- Performing field walk downs and interfacing with other groups to resolve emergent plant issues.
- Performing Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duties as assigned.
