Description

To direct and manage a region each with 4 LNG plants to ensure the safe, reliable and efficient production and delivery of vaporized liquefied natural gas while complying with all applicable federal, state, and city codes and regulations.

Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Promote and implement the philosophy and policies of safe team working and development across personal and process safety in order to achieve business objectives and continuously improve performance and plant reliability.
  • Manage operational teams, specialized contract work and maintenance activities in order to achieve high productivity, low costs and efficient work practices and to ensure compliance with National Grid policies and procedures.
  • Translate business objectives into clearly defined business plans, costs and resourcing schedules in order to challenge and improve ways of working, meet financial constraints and make effective use of plant O&M and capital budgets.
  • Translate production policies and safety objectives into processes and procedures that drive greater efficiencies for National Grid and ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulation.
  • Keep regulators and network strategy up to date and informed on National Grid compliance with asset registration, risk analyses and registers and inspections in order to ensure they are managed appropriately and in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor, report, and investigate any incidents, potential hazards and/or environmental concerns in order to ensure audits, action plans, KPI monitoring and climate change/carbon reporting complies with SHE policies and regulatory requirements. 
  • Work with other production managers and plants, business units and external partners to implement changes in order to support change and innovation within National Grid.
  • Challenge existing processes and continuously seek ways to do things better in order to drive greater efficiencies such as energy efficiencies, plant improvements, additions and changes, for the business as a whole.
  • Uphold the access and level of initial and refresher training available so that all team members are fully trained and competent and meet the required standards for their role and the business.
  • Ensure that the required emergency response plans are in place in the event of an emergency so that the potential loss of life, damage and interruption of service are minimised.
  • Carry out day to day interactions that foster adherence agreements with labour unions to ensure continued production and minimise any labor-related interruptions.
  • Become proficient in the Process Safety Management system relative to LNG Operations.  You will be required to actively participate in competency training modules arranged by the Process Safety Group and LNG Operations to increase your knowledge in the following areas
    • Become familiar with the term Major Accident Hazard sites
    • The 12 company process safety Risk Control Standards
    • The Key Performance Indicator process
    • Awareness of the company's US & UK Process Safety Groups
    • Participate in the various layers of the Process Hazard Analysis function
    • Perform Risk Hazard Assessments of the plants you are responsible for
    • Promote the process safety values to all employees
    • Other specific process safety related competencies as defined for your roles and responsibilities in the Company's US Process Safety Competency Management system.
